How to Market Yourself as an Author
On my way to become a beta reader for a writer, I've came here for help and answers and I believe I find them. I hope I can be useful to the future star :( may you all be blessed by the writing muses <3
Ironic how many/ times she used "that" in her in speech
What could you recommend for me? My prologue is 1200 words about my girl's horse accident, and chapter one is three months later (after the hospital and the months of rehab) when we see her adjust to being in a wheelchair.
So helpful! Thank you so much! Seriously, you addressed all of my pitfalls.
I currently have 16 stories that I want to write 😅 pls help
I definitely overexplain in my first chapter. Old video, GREAT INFO
Can you tell me how to organise these many ideas
How tò slow the video?
We don't need to know only what you are going to do....just how does one do it. The speech is too fast for learning. I wonder if text from another writer would be a better learning example? Just an idea. Thanks 🎉
Oh, whoa... Thank you! Can you tell me, how much is the calculation for A4 canvas, please..
You have a few examples of what's know as promoting an adjective to verb status. That's a great way to invigorate your descriptions by putting it into verbs. "The tree was tall." Instead: "The tree towered into the sky." And you got rid of a passive verb.
The only difference between a pantser and a plotter is at what stage they put together an outline or storyboard or similar. Especially, for long pieces, like a novel. You can't adequately edit without one.
I don't get it. I build my novel with chapters. I don't break my story up into chapters. I'm autistic, maybe I do thinks differently. The chapters come to my head easily, it's bigger picture I can't always see.
What about making sure it’s different? I wrote two time travel novels writ with names like “Guess what year it is Today!” I didn’t put a broken clock on the cover.
her eyes are just so beautiful
I'm thinking of writing a faith-based spiritual book (non-fiction). Do you feel these pro/con tips are primarily true for fictional novels or is this good advice across the board for having a book published?
You lost me when you said: “More punches, less words.” If you don’t know the difference between “less” and “fewer,” I have no use for your advice.
Cheer~~~~done, produced, or occurring twice a month or every two months.
Ideally love this explanations
How do get rid of the word "I"....
can you use wix if you want to start your journey as web novel writer or is it a waste of money
outline are not necessary to write a story
OMG LOVE IT! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!
THE BEST VIDEO EVER!!!
Will my book jbe rejected because the first chapter (1900 words) is a flash back (in media res)? How can I be sure of this? Thank you

glad to see you back on youtube, i hope you've been doing well 😊 i'm not doing nano this year, i haven't even opened my scrivener in months, but i'd like to get back into writing soon!
2 minutes into this video I decided to self publish lol thanks!
The problems i have are grammar yknow, like what if i write a wrong Description about what i am trying to say?
Better late than never.
My goal is only 10k for my short story, but I’m already halfway there due to a major head start, which I locked in for day 1. So, I actually skipped day 2 of Camp NaNo.
I started but I am going to stop. I am still going to write a book, but I need to launch a online business too
Wow! What a great idea for a writing exercise.
It's my favorite! It's the fastest way for me to really get to know my characters
@@VivienReis I'm totally stealing this "trauma bonding" technique.
“There’s nothing like trauma bonding with your main character” 😂
🤭🤭
Hi Vivien 👋 I’m doing Camp NaNo too with my short story.
Good luck!! We got this!
Hobbits like to eat all day because they're freakin' potheads. :D
thank you
I say write messy. I find that any of the ai suggestions make everyone's work sound the same
very helpful thanks
This is my first time ever opening up about this. I haven’t even told my therapist. *I already know the reason I have a creative slump induced by fear of failure.* What I have told people was that the sudden onset came from a beta reader’s feedback. However, despite the solution being fairly clear and suggested to me numerous times, I don’t want to accept that solution for a very trivial reason. If I don’t solve it, my novel will fail (after all, if one of my beta readers, noticed it, others will too). Despite that, I can’t bring myself to implement the most obvious solution. And, the reason I can’t do that is because I don’t want to let go of my childhood. I started writing this story when I was 15, and since then, it has evolved into an entirely different story, to the point where leftover traces of the original story ticked off a beta reader. However, I don’t want to remove those traces because I’ve been using my story as a time machine of sorts. Returning to my novel, especially the early chapters, mentally transports me to a simpler, happier time. Heck, I came up with the original idea while at Disney World; can’t get much happier than that! And it goes deeper than that. I believe there’s a reason why I clung specifically to my novel rather than anything else from my childhood: It was the capstone, so to speak. I began writing my story with fervor and even posted a few chapters to Wattpad, but less than a month after I started, my childhood dog died, and I consider the end of her life to be the end of my childhood. After she died, I was never the same. In a single moment, I went from being outgoing and bubbly to a short-tempered loner, to the point I got in trouble at school the very next day. I was desperate to turn back time, and what was the easiest way to reenact my childhood? Writing my novel. In fact, that’s the reason I even finished it to begin with. As the story evolved over the next several years, I even projected myself onto one of the main characters, who will go on to invent time travel due to her own unresolved grief. Sorry for the long-winded explanation. What I’m trying to say is, what looks like simple developmental editing to most is a near-impossible task for me because I don’t want to let go of my time machine.
Coincidentally, I also failed at gymnastics. At the beginning of 1st grade, my friend group joined an after-school gymnastics group. At the end of the quarter, we took a test to determine whether we were qualified to move to the next level, and of the four kids in my friend group, only two passed. I was one of the kids who failed. I lost my motivation right then and there and my mom immediately took me out anyway because she believed that the high failure rate was an attempt to get more money out of parents.
Long before you uploaded this, I went through to make a list of about 6 characteristics of I vs E, N vs S, T vs F, and P vs J. The goal was to illustrate the interactions of one type with another. The problem is one cannot illustrate how each influences another in less than 10-22 conversations or interactions. Then give each of the 16 a character arc. Tell me, can you name any novel with 16 well-developed character arcs. The result would be something along the line of 1,600 pages. Just too much. On the other hand, pick 4-8 character arcs, 2 to develop.
I wants to write novel on my own love story
Interesting
Really helpful, thank you.
Love this video. So helpful to me right now. Thank you so much and congrats on being a mom. Such a blessing as I'm a mom of two teen boys. The hardest job but so worth the joy.
Thank you for this. My author platform will be Instagram and Twitter. :) I'm late in the game with this, but better late than never right?:)
Thanks for this info 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I was writing everything down and towards the end, you lost me.
"Moments of doubt during writing and editing." LOL, how about "Moments of doubt during idea and outlining."
